Effective Communication in the Healthcare Setting– Jessica Bellemore, MSN, RN

0.3 PS & PPO RID CEUs

This workshop examines the role of medical interpreters in healthcare power dynamics and how interpreter decisions impact equity, access, and patient outcomes for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard-of-Hearing patients. Participants will gain practical strategies for culturally responsive, ethical, and equity-focused medical interpreting.

Objectives: Participants will gain skills to interpret medical content accurately, address healthcare misconceptions, and make ethical decisions that support equitable, safe access for Deaf patients.

FRID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. The workshop is a PS/PPO program offering 0.3 CEUs at the Little/None Content Knowledge level.
