Workshop Description:
This session will aim to provide strategies, tips and tools for both interpreters who would like to be, and those who are currently, engaged in conference interpreting. Participants will work through all aspects of conference work, from submitting a polished conference application, to preparing for stage work, to deciding what attire is appropriate. This workshop will focus on the "soft skills" that professional conference interpreters use to ensure success at all different types of conferences. This workshop is for any interpreter interested in conference interpreting.

This workshop will be presented in spoken English with ASL interpretation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Participants will list 2 strategies for submitting a polished conference application

Participants will list 2 strategies for preparing for conference plenary sessions

Participants will identify the differences between Business Casual and Business attire
