WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
As interpreters, we combat everyday stressors. Yoga is one of the best self-care tools; it simultaneously stimulates the brain, heart, and bones. Through Yoga, doing asanas, pranayama, and meditation, we can take care of ourselves. As a result, we will create a ripple effect of positivity in our minds and bodies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Discuss the effects Yoga has on the mind and body (pre and post self-assessment)
Demonstrate the asanas (poses) that greatly benefit interpreters (wrists, arms, shoulders)
Appraise how Yoga will improve their work as interpreters
Formulate an individual plan on how to incorporate Yoga (or certain aspects of Yoga) in their lives as a self-care tool
