Pints with Prez is Heading to Royal Palm Beach!

South Florida — come hang out with us!

The Pints with Prez Tour is making its way to the West Palm Beach area, and I’d love to see you there!

Join me on Saturday, October 10 at World of Beer in Royal Palm Beach.

Grab some food, order your favorite drink (doesn't have to be a pint! ), pull up a chair, and hang out with us!

No formal meeting. No presentation. No agenda. Seriously.

Pints with Prez started because I wanted a chance to get out around Florida and actually spend time with the people who make up our interpreting and Deaf communities. Come catch up with people you know, meet someone new, talk shop—or don't talk about interpreting at all!

Of course, I always want to hear what's happening in your part of Florida too. Tell me what FRID is doing well, what you wish we were doing, what you need, or what you'd love to see happen. Some of the best ideas come from conversations just like these.

But most importantly, just come hang out with us!

Description

Have you ever been at an assignment and realized that you are not actually sure what the Deaf person you are interpreting for does for a living? “Wait...What’s Your Job?” workshops are for you!

Meet Sonia Garcia-DeNight, an early language acquisition coordinator and early interventionist, who will explain her hands on work with Deaf children and families. From early language development to key milestones, communication approaches, and simple strategies for adults interacting with Deaf infants and children, you will leave this workshop feeling confident that you have the lingo to interpret effectively for an early childhood specialist without asking "Wait . . . What's your job?"

Cancelation Policy

If FRID, the presenters, or unforeseen circumstances (including acts of God) cause the workshop to be canceled, participants will receive a credit toward a future FRID event.

Refunds will not be issued for individual cancelations. However, if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person.

Please join FRID for our 2026 Annual Business Meeting and help shape the direction of FRID for the coming year. The FRID Board of Directors invites all our members to the meeting, which will be held at St. Petersburg College, Clearwater Campus on October 24th, 2026!

During the meeting, Board members and Committee Chairs will give updates on the work they have been doing, the floor will be open for members to make motions, and we’ll announce the recipient of the 2026 President's Award and the 2026 Distinguished Service Award!
